Lesson Seven - Witnessing

The believer is commissioned to take the gospel to the unsaved. This is a responsibility of each individual who knows the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Many have exchanged sharing the gospel for an invitation to church or some other religious activity. The Lord gives the following command, “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15)

I. Every Christian is a witness.

  • Acts 1:8
  • Matthew 28:19,20

    • II. We have the power to witness because of God’s Spirit within us.

  • 1 Corinthians 6:19,20
  • John 14:26
  • 1 Peter 3:15

    • III. Every child of God is a witness.

  • Whether it be good or bad! You are writing a Gospel, A chapter each day, By the deeds that you do and the words that you say. Men read what you write, Whether faithful or true; Just what is the Gospel according to you?
  • James 3:10

    • IV. While everyone is to be a witness, not everyone has the gift of Evangelism.

  • Ephesians 4:11,12

    • The word for witness in the New Testament is where we get our English word martyr. May each of us live our lives so if we were convicted of being a witness for the Lord Jesus Christ that there would be enough evidence to convict us!
